Requested move: merge Sosnowsky’s hogweed into Giant hogweed?

Result: not moved. The article will follow the taxonomists, not precede them.

In view of Shadrin et al. (2024) and the “twin species” of Shtratnikova et al. (2025), should Sosnowsky’s hogweed be merged into Giant hogweed? — Kingfisher (talk) 11:30, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Oppose for now. Merging the names would not merge a single stand. The plant does not care what it is called, and neither should the article, until the taxonomists agree. — Rosa L. (talk) 12:20, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
